Dr Tlaleng Mofokeng is a South African medical doctor and a women’s rights and sexual and reproductive health rights activist.

She holds a Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Medicine from the Nelson Mandela School of Medicine, University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, Durban.
Career
Dr. Tlaleng Mofokeng is the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Right to Health, a Commissioner at the Commission for Gender Equality, a medical practitioner, and an SRHR expert. Clinical services, comprehensive sexuality education, training and facilitation, and content generation are among Dr. Mofokeng’s specialties.
She has worked in the United Nations Human Rights Council, the United Nations Commission on Population Development, and the United States Senate, among other places.
She serves on the boards of the Safe Abortion Action Fund, the Global Advisory Board for Sexual Health and Wellbeing, the Sex Worker Education Advocacy Taskforce, and the Soul City Institute for Social Justice, among others. She also works at Global Doctor’s Choice and Global Health Strategies, where she teaches medical students.
