 Chloe Covell (born 9 February 2010) is an Australian Skateboarder. She has won many accolades, including a bronze medal at X Games Chiba in April 2022 and a silver medal at Summer X Games in California.

The rising star placed seventh in her World Skate debut at World Street Skateboarding Rome in July 2022. She placed second at the Rome World Skateboarding Tour Street stop.

Early Life

Chloe Covell was born on 9 February 2010 in Tweed Heads, New South Wales, Australia, to Luke and Julie Covell. She has been skateboarding for half her life, starting at age five. She watched pro skateboarder Nyjah Huston compete in the X-Games and decided she wanted to learn.

Covell has sports in her blood – her father, Luke Covell, is the former Cronulla goalkicking winger. She got into soccer and plays at a representative level.

Education

Covell started Year 8 at Palm Beach Currumbin High School in 2022. Her school sends her work through her computer when she is globetrotting.

How does Chloe Covell train?

Covell begins her day with school, followed by her gym training and physio at the Queensland Academy of Sport. Afterward, she dedicates approximately two hours to skateboarding practice.

Every Wednesday, Covell does a mobility and breathing session. Physiotherapy and ice baths are her primary recovery methods, supplemented by compression boots and a massage gun at home to aid in muscle recovery.

Chloe Covell Competitions (2022 – date)

Covell established her presence on the international scene at age 12. At the X Games in Chiba, Japan, in 2022, 12-year-old Covell made an impact in women’s skateboarding by winning a bronze medal in the street event.

After guidance from Tommy Fynn and inspiration from Nyjah Huston, she won silver at the Summer X Games in California.

Chloe Covell continued her success by finishing second (silver) at the X Games and then third (bronze) at the Dew Tour.

The Gold Coast skateboarder had a great year in 2023. She almost won in Rome in June and won a gold medal in street skateboarding at the X Games. She achieved an impressive feat by winning the gold medal in the women’s street competition at the X Games in Ventura, California, in July 2023.

At 13, Covell became the youngest athlete to win a gold medal in women’s street skateboarding at the X Games.

Chloe Covell has reached the top of her sport and is a strong contender for the Paris 2024 Olympics. She was selected by the Australian Olympic Committee to represent her country. She fell short in her bid to become the country’s youngest gold medalist on day two of the Paris Olympics.

Covell’s talent and hard work have earned her a top-four ranking globally in women’s street skateboarding. She is the number one skateboarder in Australia.
