Tamra Bow was born on 22 November 1979 in Victoria, a state in southeast Australia where she grew up. She had and enjoyed her ‘Swan Hill childhood’.
Career
Bow has worked as a news reporter for Channel Seven and Channel Nine. She has covered live reports on bushfires and crime, feel-good wildlife rescues, and success stories. She was on the ground during the 2016 Dreamworld tragedy.
Bow has had a varied career in television reporting. She has covered local and state news and worked for top networks, including NBN, Channel 9 Gold Coast, and Channel 7 Queensland.
Television reporting for Bow took a significant turn when Sunrise hired her. She has since become a fixture in breakfast television – her day often begins at 2 or 3 am to bring the news to viewers.
Her broadcasting passion began in radio, starting at Sea FM on the Gold Coast. She moved to the Gold Coast’s number-one radio station, 102.9 Hot Tomato, as the weekend news reporter.
Her unwavering passion for broadcasting has equipped her with comprehensive skills. She is a versatile and in-demand Master of Ceremonies (MC) and announcer across South East Queensland. She hosted the Melbourne Cup at The Star Gold Coast in 2023.
Bow announced she’ll be the official host of the 2022 Gold Coast Cup Raceday. She hosted the city’s Australian Citizenship Ceremony on Australia Day in January 2024.
She also hosts race days, gala dinners, awards ceremonies, charity and corporate events.
After spending over ten years as a television journalist and six years on Sunrise, Bow announced she was launching as a travel writer.
Bow has had the privilege of serving as the head announcer for Tourism Australia for the past eight years. She has traveled across the country with Australia’s peak tourism body.

Tamra Bow is married to fitness owner Mathew ‘Maty’ Price. The couple celebrated 16 years together in April 2023. She has a son, Sunny, who turned 18 in July 2023.
