Madelein Dippenaar is the top matric pupil of 2019
1. Madelein Dippenaar from Paarl Gimnasium high school in the Western Cape was lauded on Tuesday as the country’s top matric pupil of 2019.
2. Eighteen-year-old Madeleine Dippenaar, who went to Paarl Gymnasium High School in the Western Cape, said she worked hard throughout the year and used the September exams as a trial run for the final exam.
3. Dippenaar will be going to Stellenbosch University to study towards a degree in BSC Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.
4. She was born in the year 2001 and is eighteen years old as at the time of publishing this post.
5. She has always been a top academic performer and been top of her class since Grade 8.
6. She has taken two extra subjects since Grade 10 which is German second additional language as well as visual arts at our local art school in Paarl.
7. She never thought she would be in the top 10 nationally or maybe provincially.
8. She originally hails from the Northern Cape and is the middle child of three siblings.
9. Top matric learner overall for the DBE class of 2019 is Madelein Dippenaar from Paarl Gymnasium High School
10. She said she was “extremely shocked” when she heard she had topped the list in the 2019 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations
