SPAR Gives Top School Netball Players Another Chance to Shine

One of the biggest school netball tournaments in South Africa will get underway at Hoërskool Menlopark on Friday night with support from SPAR North Rand, the main sponsor of the highly anticipated event which is expected to produce tremendous excitement for a packed crowd of spectators.

The tournament will open with an exhibition match between two of the country’s top senior sides – the popular Jaguars team from Pretoria and the North West Flames. 

The high school players will join the action on Saturday when the tournament gets underway between U-12 to U-18 sides from prestigious netball schools including the likes of Oranje, Paarl Girls, Helpmekaar, Noordheuwel, Bloemhof, Monnas and hosts Menlo.

More than 1500 youth players will participate in the event.

“Our ties to netball stretch all the way from school level to the senior national team, and we are pleased to be able to continue our support of young girls who compete in South Africa’s most popular women’s sport,” said SPAR North Rand marketing executive Ralph Rajagopaul. “We wish all the players the best as they prepare for another exciting year of netball that lies ahead.”

The tournament organisers have urged parents, family members and netball fans in Pretoria to join the top-class action and watch some of SA’s rising stars as they prepare for the upcoming season.
