Avril (born 30 April 1986) whose real name is Judith Nyambura Mwangi is a Kenyan singer-songwriter, actress and entertainer.

Career
In order to study design, Avril enrolled in the University of Nairobi in 2006. After obtaining a record deal with Ogopa Deejays, she recorded her debut single, “Mama,” during her second year at the University of Nottingham. The song was published in 2009 and distributed to radio stations all throughout Kenya. Later, Avril appeared on Colonel Mustapha’s website “Mtaani dot com” (sometimes stylized as “mtaani.com”).
Following her duet with A.Y on his 2010 track “Leo,” Avril started to acquire popularity (Remix). Changes,” a song she wrote with Sudanese artist Lam, was made available there. She was a part of Marya’s breakout hit “Chokoza,” which was released in November 2010 and gained a lot of radio play.
Avril released her song “Kitu Kimoja” on January 31, 2012. “Hakuna Yule” by Avril was released in February 2013. Avril appeared in the chorus of the Boomba Boyz song “Piga Kengele” in March 2014. She gave a performance at the Tusker Meru 7 After Party in July 2014.
