Personal Life
Andrew married his colleague, Helen Castles, at Tokerau Beach, Karikari Peninsula, in 2024. An intimate group of whānau and friends, including Shane Jones, Dot, and MP Dover Samuels, watched them tie the knot.
The groom, Andrew, wore khaki shorts and a white linen shirt and came with Helen’s children, aged 20, and his children, aged 11. He has twin sons from his past relationship. His new wife, Helen Castles, is a mother of twin boys. So, both have twin sons from their past relationships.
The Rugby reporter first met Helen in 2005, when she worked at the Kaikohe newspaper as a reporter. They started to date in 2020, but it wasn’t the right time, as they were coming out of a long-term relationship.
Castles and Saville returned together in 2022 and made their relationship public after Christmas. The following year, in 2023, they got engaged. While they dated, the couple managed the commute between Andrew’s home in Auckland and Helen’s Northland base.
The 54-year-old bought a diamond engagement ring in March 2023 and began his plan to propose. He asked his stepchildren to recommend the best Northland spot for the proposal. The twins suggested Karikari Beach, known for its white sand and crystal-clear waters.
After proposing, the duo celebrated their engagement on a beach.
