In the 2004–05 UCB Provincial Cup, he made his first-class debut for KwaZulu-Natal against Free State, taking three wickets. Around 2006/07 and 2009/10, he played nine times for Eastern Province in first-class cricket. He scored 365 runs at an average of 26.07 as an all-rounder, with a top score of 104.
Between 2006/07 and 2009/10, Fynn played twelve times for Eastern Province in List A one-day cricket. In these matches, he scored 182 runs, with a high score of 89 not out. He took 19 wickets with the ball at an average of 22.84, with the best figures of 4 for 30.
