Lihleli made his debut on television as a guest star in the fourth episode of Season 4 of the SABC1 sitcom My Perfect Family, playing the part of Tyson.
He played a part in the Mzansi Magic television film Ezibiweyo the following year, which is about a young man who is abducted and taken to an illicit circumcision school, from which he and other initiates must flee.
A few months later, on Saturday, September 9, 2017, as part of the channel’s “Lokshin Bioskop” strand, he played a significant part in the Mzansi Magic telemovie iLifa.
Another guest staring role came his way in 2018, this time in the Mzansi Magic soap opera The Queen. His program debuted on May 22, 2018.
In the 1Magic drama series Grassroots, Lihleli played Asanda, a young man who moves from the rural Eastern Cape to accept a rugby scholarship at a prestigious private school in Johannesburg. This was his first leading role in television.
