Accurately calculating the number of points needed for admission (APS)
An admission score will be assigned based on the percentages attained in the National Senior Certificate exams (preliminary and final examinations).
Admission is based on the total of six subjects, eliminating Life Orientation, but including English and any other needed subjects for the appropriate program. For example, if a student is needed to take Maths and Physical Sciences in order to pursue a degree, we will use the scores for English, Maths, Physical Sciences, and the next best three courses other than Life Orientation to compute the NSC score towards the APS.
