What are the Requirements to be eligible for NSFAS funding
Before submitting an application, applicants must ensure that they meet the following minimum entry requirements:
A South African citizen is required to apply for the scholarship.
In 2022, you must be enrolled in or planning to enroll in an undergraduate degree program (postgraduate courses will not be funded, except for postgraduate students who received funding in 2020).
You must be enrolled in or planning to enrol in a South African public tertiary institution (University or TVET College). There can be no prior certifications held by you.
You must be at least one of the following:
1) You must be a beneficiary of an SASSA award (excluding the SASSA COVID-19 grant)
2) Your household’s combined annual income cannot exceed R350 000.
3) You must have a disability and a combined household income of less than R600,000 per year to be eligible for disability benefits.
4) You must have begun your studies prior to 2018 and your annual household income must not exceed R122 000.
