Eugene Johnson is a South African politician and businesswoman who served as the Executive Mayor of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality from November 2021 till September 2022.

Career
She was a council member for the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality from 2005 to 2010, and she belonged to the African National Congress.
No party won a majority of seats on the Nelson Mandela Bay city council during the local government elections that were conducted on 1 November 2021. Both the ANC and the DA won 48 seats. Johnson was announced on November 21, 2021, as the ANC’s Nelson Mandela Bay mayoral candidate.
Eugene Johnson was removed by a multi-party coalition through a motion of no confidence.
62 councillors voted in favour of Johnson’s removal and 58 voted against the motion.
